When will this finally happen?
Interior is a given, will they also update the body?
WIth the sales numbers reported they need this ASAP.
Coupe version in the works?

For ease of distinguishing a new DBX model, surely a little ECU tinkering could result in the DBX 708.
Any unofficial name, such as 'DBX 707 Mark 2', or 'DBX update model', is just cumbersome.

We shall see.

Tomorrow.

It’s likely this is just a tie in update to bring the dbx in line with the db12 and new vantage.

I had heard rumours of a dbx 899 v12. Maybe that will come later. Hope so!

Looks like the DBX got an interior makeover!!! The layout of dash looks good, I think I like it better than the DB12 and Vantage layout.

JWW review, reveal. Not just an interior update, some small exterior changes as well. The 707 was a very good car, apart from the tech issues, now a great car... well, SUV. Looking forward to upgrading: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zbq1Lkv5Qok

I saw a few flashing orange images on Instagram.
Is that what the GenZ+ group like?

Here is a more detailed, slower description.

https://archive.ph/lKrat

A new 12.3in digital driver’s display.
Is that size a coincidence. W213 Mercedes E class drivers might look at an identical display.
Someone said, that underneath the new Aston Martin infotainment system, is Mercedes MBUX with an Aston Martin user interface.
Nothing wrong with that, because the recent MBUX systems are very well regarded.

Thoughts:

I like the new interior changes, however no info on things like HUD or massage seats. Reclining rear seats and window blinds. These are features found on similar & “lesser” types of car.

Exterior is so minimal, I wasn’t expecting much but wow. I guess if it ain’t broke(hmm maybe a poor choice of words for me!).

I have yet to do a write up on here about my DB12 experience but I’ll say this. I hope they have not imported all the plastic bits from that car into the DBX. The plastic steering mounted paddles were extremely disappointing

I like the upgraded interior…but man…I’m not a fan of some of the colour choices…I get personal taste..but that has to be an impossible sell when you want to move on…jmho you understand…what happened to classic interiors…

According to the Mr JWW video, there is no longer a base model DBX - only the 707. Is that really true? Not everyone needs a 700hp SUV.

The other models had lower margins, made no sense.. Plus Stroll will say most people ordered a 707 anyway.. Eventhough they hid exact ratio in latest report where before they did note the ratio..

Interior is a given, .. /quote]

Well I guess I was wrong. My guess was DB12 / new Vantage interior straight copy into the DBX.

But now they did this. Why AM, why.. There was no more budget left for basically the most important car in the line-up?!?!

I am sorry but I really do not understand why people suddenly like this interior. ITS THE SAME INTERIOR WITH NEW TECH AND A NEW STEERING WHEEL. Okay they try to hide it with some other finishing parts and they cut away a part BUT ITS THE SAME OLD FUGLY INTERIOR. How can you complain about the old interior and then say you like this?? Okay okay they cut down a mold and removed the part under the old screen and yes that area looks better then the old situation, creative solution AM well played. BUT ITS STILL THE SAME OLD INTERIOR DESIGN. Sorry AM, not good enough, especially for your most important car that needs to bring in the cash. I mean just look at how the top corners of the infotainment screen connect with those old interior lines of the dash.. How can the AM design team accept that? That just looks cheap.. and its a 250K pounds car!

Sorry for ranting but this is a BIG disappointment. DBX sales were down because people were waiting for the next interior version. But I am not so sure this will do it for AM. But I guess most people only car if they can connect their phone easy..

When will it be available? I'll check it out in real life before lashing out more about this interior.. After the new Vantage AM regained some of my trust (despite not changing the rear design of the car..) but now they do this.. Utter disappointment.

Extract;

'Order books for the Aston Martin DBX707 are open now, and deliveries are expected to start in the second half of 2024.
No word on whether a price increase is to be expected.'

I think I heard that the China only, DBX in-line 3 litre mild hybrid model, is being discontinued.
Seems an odd decision, because that model fitted into a lower taxation category and apparently sold in China at a much lower price than the DBX 707.

That’s a nice update. Pretty important in this segment of the market where tech is more important to the type of person that will buy an SUV.

Some pricing for you.

My DBX 707 was £158k base, £225k with options

Facelifted 707: £205k base, £271k with equivalent options.

AMR green has soared from a £2k option to £15k!

To make matters worse, my dbx 707 (72 plate, 17k miles) is worth roughly £140-150k.

So if I wanted the new version, it’s a £120k difference to change. That’s a lot for a nicer screen.

Aston keep pumping up prices to try and aid residuals but it just makes it worse.

Aston keep pumping up prices to try and aid residuals, but it just makes it worse.

Applying the depreciation that you have referenced, to the DBX 707 facelift, means the new model will lose £95,000 value during the initial two years.

I think the aim of pumping up prices, is an attempt to achieve a positive cash flow for Aston Martin.
Residuals might not have entered their thoughts, especially as they proudly state, that more than 60% of customers are new to the brand.
Of course, when some of the 'fiercely loyal existing customers', decide that 'a £120k difference to change' is too much, plus the new vehicle will then lose £95,000 during the following two years, a percentage reduction of existing customers, obviously increases the percentage of new customers.

Aston Martin press release - 'Intensity. Driven'.
“Whilst engaging our fiercely loyal customer base, we believe this new dimension will capitalise on the growing demand from a new generation of Aston Martin customers, with more than 60% of our current sales new to the brand.”

If the lowest price DBX is now from £205,000, how much was the now discontinued DBX (lower powered) model ?
The difference will be the amount that the DBX starting price has risen.

I’m 33 and got plenty of years of car buying left (I hope!) so they aren’t valuing current customers either as it makes no sense to upgrade to the latest model when so much money is being lost.

During the VH era many current owners were exchanging their car for a new model (as Jon39's multiple owner topic shows).
More recently, it has cost so much more money to 'trade-up. Combine that with the VH cars being very good, so many of us are quite satisfied to just enjoy the Aston Martin that we already own.

An awkward situation for AML, because they have lost that significant group of new car buyers.
Making good cars, then putting up prices were inevitable at some point, so I don't know what else they could have done.
