All,

I need your views..

I really like the AUDI RS7.. always have and think they are looking really affordable (purchase cost) not running...

However also thinking that the above may be near impossible to sale on... whereas something a bit newer could be a bit easier to step out of.. but equally as fun..

Whats your thoughts?

Do you like to ‘drive’ your cars? M5 would be my choice

I’d take that bet, I reckon I could do it in 30 mins.

Fast exec saloons - M5 is the default choice and always has been. I think you'd always be wondering what if if you went for the Audi. Get one of those when you need to put the dog in the back with the default fast estate.

Yes I know the M5 is going to top the list but must just be my odd penchant for the RS car.. Both seem to be shedding value like there is no tomorrow, I think the RS&7 is priced nearer where it should be.. the m5 i think will still fall...

I just cant commit to one or tother..

I love the Avant.. but theyre holding a lot more value / higher miles.. and I dont really need the boot... although still spectacular things..

The M5 is the correct answer - it's unquestionably the better car, which is probably why I'd lean towards the RS7. A bit rarer, a lot better value for money, and to my eyes better looking.

It really depends on what you want. If you’re after an engaging car from a driving perspective then a m5 will prob tick the boxes. But there are SO many variables. At then end of the day, I’d suggest choosing the car that you actually want to sit in and drive. Both excellent machines in so many ways.

You thought about an S8?, I think they are a better car than M5 (particularly the Plus, but normal S8 is very good too)

Friend had an rs7, advertised it privately last year and within a week car of loads guys came over from England to NI and bought it.

It was an easy sell!

For what it’s worth, I’ve driven both and much prefer the rs7 and that says slot because I’m a //M man at heart!

Don’t think there is a wrong choice.

Drive both and go for whichever one you prefer.

Both are special cars!

I have an RS6 so fully behind the RS badge but I think the RS7 fills a weird spot in the market and prices reflect it. Ultimately you've got to go and look at both.

FWIW, I regularly miss my M5 even though I have a couple of really great weekend cars now anyway. I've never been impressed by fast Audis but it's a very subjective assessment.

That M5 you posted is one generation younger than the RS7, in terms of tech and connectivity it will feel much much more up to date.

Loved that Audi V8 engine I had in another car but didn't gel with the gearbox, which I think is also the same, just too slow and dim.

For my money I would go M5
