I can solve half your problem ..AVO are no more. Do you have the original Koni shocks on the car? A@
Front – 80 2617 (rear are 2618) I might have a used set laying around BUT there are different numbers on the rear, dependant on the trailing arm version fitted (the spring seat moves).
If you want the old ones refurbished ..then I can recommend (he did my Koni 8212-1121 Alloy body shocks for my Vixen)

Hi Adrian, thanks for the prompt reply. My problem lies with a leaky front shock, ironically it passed it's MOT today with an advisory but I'd like to get it sorted. To be honest I'm not sure what make they are. I've just spoken with Shaun at SP Suspension (thanks for his number) and what he suggested was to take them off, look for any form of identification and then contact him or send him a photo and then take it from there. Thanks again for your help, much appreciated.
Once again thanks for the replies. I think for me to move forward my first task is to identify exactly what's on the car at present (thanks Adrian for the tips of where and what to look for). Once I know what I'm dealing with I can have a chat with Shaun at SP Suspension and take it from there. If he can't help I maybe back in touch. Thanks again.

Thanks Philpott. Re Protech, I'm sure I've read on a previous pistonheads post of yours that you fitted them to your S3 and were happy with them? Can I ask, did you buy direct from Protech or a third party and do you have any reference numbers? Yes I have looked at the suspension wiki thread but unfortunately I couldn't find any really up to date info, which is what I was after. I do look at the Facebook group page daily and it's OK but to be honest for a more serious discussion I much prefer the Pistonheads threads, perhaps it's my age!
I bought a full set from Racetech, they were cheaper than this but it was a few years ago and they had an "offer" on

If you have OEM Koni I'd recommend sticking with them. Get new rubber bushes fitted if you can and they will outlast your ownership of the car. The dampers on mine had over 90,000 miles on them, a bit sift but NO leaks.
Have a look at the WIKI and see how much sodding about owners have had to do to get the ride height and compliance right. The limiting factor with using the OEM units is not the dampers it's the springs. They can shrink over the years - (I might have a pair).
