Have been seriously thinking about changing our 'family' F31 33d touring for a year old LCI G21 330e touring. Am I mad?

We tend to buy a younger car roughly every 5 or 6 years, not usually for any reason other than to have a more modern vehicle. So going to the G we seem to be giving up power, range, space, but gaining cheap grocery shopping journeys and some tech like the full width digi dash and adaptive dampers. Oh and with px, we'll be paying an extra c £18-£19k for the privaledge.

Want to talk me in, or out of it?

not an exact reply regarding your situation but a similar one myself having a 640d.

to change to anything id want would be another 20k to add in.

surely it cant be worth it?

I would be quite tempted by the 330e Touring, especially if it meant all electric driving for the commute, plus weekend shopping/ errands.
Occasional longer journeys would be handled by the petrol motor.

Seems quite a bit cheaper than Merc C class plug-in hybrid, but that appears to come only in very high-spec in the UK?

I was parked next to one yesterday at the nursery gardens and got chatting; older couple (couldn't get the compost into the boot far back enough so sorted that for them)

He set off before me and I followed him as far as the bypass before I needed to turn off; he certainly put his foot down, the thing flew off! biggrin

Looked to be a superb car IMO

Would you be mad in what way? G2xs are decent cars. Well, I didn't think much of the G22's cabin rattles tbh, but the saloon and estate are good.

Assume you have a 335d if you think you're missing out on power? You missed off a digit.

290hp vs 306hp.....I doubt you'd even notice.

Gs bring the interior up to date in terms of Carplay type shat and nav on the clocks display etc, but it's not as nice or slick as the equivalent Audi. The F is mega dated in that regard, and mega money to update......if done properly.
