Hi all,

Given some of the fantastic answers I see on here, I'd love to see people's thoughts for ideas for my next car. I'm currently browsing ideas for the future - I'm a current owner of a Mk7.5 Fiesta ST and would be looking for something a bit bigger, less overtly sporty and more comfortable (although good to drive!). Think most who know me in the Smoker Barges thread know I'm angling towards an X351 XJ 3.0d, my mileage is 12-15k a year (good mix of longer motorway runs and local stuff) but wonder what else is out there. I tried an M235i and it was lovely, but not brilliantly damped and I'm not too keen to modify another car or too heavily. Otherwise, I'd like an Automatic Saloon or Coupe, straight Petrol or Diesels, with a premium sound system. Heated seats a must, heated steering wheel and more luxo toys appreciated!

I look forward to your suggestions.

Nice choice (and colour!). I did try a Veloce which was very nice but for some reason I had not too much head room even as a short arse

Maybe a BMW 330d, something im considering next as a good all rounder. Can be a bit expensive though.

Thanks chaps, some really interesting choices! I like an XF, I think for me it's the ultimate "for the same money, I can have a slightly longer, bigger, lighter car with more toys". Loving the ideas, not an Octavia fan though, it's not brilliant for refinement or damping quality IMO.
