Guesstimate new iPad setup time

Sorry for the dumb arse question

Out in the back of beyond in Canada and looking at setting up a new iPad from an old iPad's cloud backup.

Given the connection speed is a blistering 4Mbps and the old iPad is using 12Gb (of 16Gb) storage and Cloud storage says it's using 3.3Gb of 5Gb, how long does PH think it will take? I'm thinking a couple of hours at least ..

From memory does it not do the data restore quietly in the background leaving the iPad useable whilst it gets on with it?

As you say might take a few hours.

I've not done it before so I'm just wondering if it's a leave overnight thing. I have no doubt if it was a MSFT product it would wait till 3 seconds after I went to bed for a dialogue box to pop up requiring a button press

Took 2 hours to do, very straightforward. What it did highlight was just how out of date the old one was so the 80 year old Canadian farmers have had a great time being dragged into a more modern age
