Ammanford School stabbings

Apparently 3 people have been stabbed by a student. I've seen a video of it and it looks like they're trying to get hold of a female student. Awful.

Sketchy details - I can't share the video on here but seems a frantic scene. I'm currently sitting in the local at the moment and the bar man's niece attends the school and msg'd her mum when they were locked down.

I just can't fathom something like that happening there. I know things change and we moved away years ago (it was Ysgol Gyfun Dyffryn Amman back then) but it always seemed a really safe place.

I was wondering if she attacked another student and the two teachers tried to stop her.

I work in secondary education and unfortunately I can. In fact we’re all amazed it’s taken so long for an incident like this to occur.

Just be thankful we aren't like the good old US of A - it wouldn't be stabbings it would be guns and even more tragedy.

Rumours around that it relates to bullying. Threads I've read suggests the perpetrator was the victim of bullying, but all very unsubstantiated.

I wouldn't normally share this - but I had savage bullying. I also had awful acne and was put on a god forsaken drug - it makes me feel even sorrier for all involved as whatever they put me on wasn't right.

I'm lead to believe she'd been expelled from another school and had ended up at Ammanford where she was allowed access to a certain room for people with special/extra needs. It was within this room she attacked two teachers who were in there with her, stabbing one in the neck and another in the arm.

There also seems to be something going around that her brother had been arrested but it's all a little vague.

If true it suggests there is a huge failure to deal with troubled kids within the education system and that the policy is to move them on to be someone else's problem. We've seen these before, very recently in fact...

Massive lack of funding and support for alternative provision and social care. Massive increase in social issues and mental health of younger people.

This is likely the result.
