A fishing boat and a tanker collided on the Firth of Clyde yesterday. All 3 from the fishing boat were rescued.

Strange thing is the Coastguard helicopters came from Inverness and Stornoway. Are there no Coastguard helicopters on the Clyde these days? Seems odd given the amount of traffic on the river, and the proximity to the Irish Sea.

There is a CG helicopter at Prestwick. I guess it may have been out of action or busy doing something else.

Wife of a friend is a coastguard chollywopter pilot at Lydd. They’ve covered as far north as the Humber when required.

Our waterski lake is almost next to lydd airport so see that CG helicopter almost constantly. Its amazing how much time it spends in the air.
