Is anyone willing to let me know if Ferrari tend to have any room for movement at all on advertised price?

I don’t want to waste everyone’s time if they really do stick firm, but equally don’t want to naively hand over the full amount if a polite bit of very mild haggling would get two or three thousand off.

This’ll be on a £120-140k Portofino.

In general, no. Main dealers don't usually budge on price. You can try getting some extras thrown in but with summer just around the corner, you're picking the wrong time of year to haggle for a discount on a convertible Ferrari.

They do also make money on the finance so if you're planning to finance it, then it becomes a different discussion. But if it's cash or you're financing elsewhere then forget it.

Thanks, I thought that was quite likely.

One of the cars I’m considering is with HR Owen, but it’s priced in line with what I’d expect given the difference in warranty, so likely similarly firm.

But it doesn’t do any harm to try a sensible offer particularly if you can back it up by pointing to a similar car elsewhere offered at a lower price. As long as you are polite and don’t go in like billy big b*ll*cks I don’t see a problem. They can always so no and even if they do it can open the door to some extras being thrown in.

Generally no room to move on new and reasonable amount of room to move on used. I got a discount and full ppf thrown in on my used from HR Owen.

On the first of the month..? Nothing. Try to buy at the end of the sales period, targets for bonuses etc might might get you a discount.

Will depend on time of year, how long they have had the car and whether it is stock or SOR. I always negotiate, but have had varying degrees of success due to the above reasons. No harm in making an offer…

I got £7k off with some fairly easy negotiation. This was mid covid though.

Bought 7 used Ferrari all from two different main dealers in the last 11 years and had between £4,000 and £20,000 discount.
Never paid full list even when the car just came in to stock. Best deals I’ve done right at the end of December.
If buying at this time of year I’d expect a minimum of £3-4K off the list and hold firm. Guaranteed they’ll want to get the deal done, particularly if a multi franchise ownership like Sytner Graypaul. This is for dealer owned cars, if SOR then obviously at the discretion of the owner.

A second one that I like has just arrived, at a different dealer group than the first so I’m hopefully able to avoid my imbecilic tendency to buy one unseen the moment they say someone else is coming to look at it.

Very similar, but no apple car play, which is a shame. Having Waze available is quite nice, so if I get that one I’ll need to get a phone holder.

I’d have to say that, as a Portofino owner for 4 years, Apple Car Play is worth having whereas the passenger display is a complete waste of money.

I managed to get £5K off a low mileage F430 from Maranello's ,surprised they took my offer as my car was the last of three they had sold that week

and said that 430's are getting old now and hard to find with full main dealer service history which is needed to give the two year guarantee which i still got despite the

large reduction on the price, Specialists were asking similar money for higher mileage cars with only three to six months guarantee ,

Think things are different these days as decent low mileage stock is hard to come by with to many dealers chasing to fewer cars ,

believe it's been like that since Covid.

so many factors, timing being the main as well as the car - you're more likely to get discounts on used sf90's/296's etc
