Motion-based (not IR) security light
Discussion
I want to add a security light to the back of our property but the aim of the light is directly through the exhaust flue of our gas boiler. I tried a cheap LED/solar light but it lit up every time the boiler fired up. Is there an alternative tech (microwave?) that won't be triggered by water vapour exiting the flue
Positioning a proper PIR sensor well above or below is I believe the only answer.
Edit, from a quick google
What are the disadvantages of a microwave sensor?
Limitations of Microwave Sensors
Potential for false alarms: Their high sensitivity can lead to false alarms triggered by minor movements, like a swaying tree branch.
Energy consumption: Microwave sensors consume more power than PIR sensors, which may impact long-term energy costs.

I found some smart bulbs on amazon with microwave detection. I have no idea what they are like though
Brilliant.OP, we had a similar issue at a previous property and there was no effective way of moving the light, so in the end, the plumber came round and fitted a flue extension kit and this directed the outlet way up and out of sight of the PIR, so that may be an option?
