Stupid situation.

A leak is coming from the water pipes supplying my kitchen sink. The position of the pipes mean I can’t even get my fingers in the hole (ooer) to tighten anything. The tap looks to be one unit secured to the sink which of course is fixed into the worktop. There doesn’t seem to be a screw to remove the tap so I could then replace the pipe.Pics below.

Any ideas on how I can get to the pipes? Or do I need to call a man?

the little round cap on the upper part of the tap is a pop off plastic cover to a grub screw.

This will allow you access to dismantle the tap

Great lurking!

But I can’t see a pop off top frown

The middle part does look to somehow be removable but I can’t see how exactly…

Is the black plastic round part underneath the sink not the securing nut for tap? If it is then rotating that to unscrew on the threads will release the tap complete with flexi hoses.

Sink taps are normally held on by something like this https://www.diy.com/departments/home-centre-mono-b...

you need to undo the flexi pipes from the solid pipes, then undo the center bolt thing in the tap fixing. The tap will then lift out and the flexi can be replaced or tightened up.

That was written as it would appear in a haynes manual smile What will really happen is the bolt will be rusted solid and probably snap off in the tap body meaning drilling out the bolt and replacing it or it's often easier to replace the tap.

.... the little bit with the red / blue dots on should pop off... will let you dismantle the tap from the top, not sure if it'll be useful to get to the pipes though...
