Mercedes E400 AMG wheels

Hi,
My BiL has a 2020 E400 AMG estate with 20" rims, I think it's a W213 model?
He's had to replace 2 of the wheels due to pot hole damage in the last few months and as he's a more mature driver I suggested he might be better off switching to smaller wheels - has anyone done this or know if it's possible?
