Anyone have any experience on aftermarket exhaust for 98 V-8.
I am researching on the net for Borla, Flowmaster, Tubi, but am not sure about the sound and performance.
I am looking for nice note, straight pipe, increase performance but not too loud. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I am a 4cyl man, but every v8 I have been behind have all been straight pipes. To me it sounds like a corvette, even for its size. And all he they did was remove the mufflers.
Exept for motoconcepts no one else does performance exaust for the v8. so make one your self.

Most common aftermarket exhaust is from Quicksilver:

www.quicksilverexhausts.com/

These are essentially just pipes that come straight back from the cats at each side - ie no silencer box. Here's a pic from Johan Hybinette's site:

You may also want to check out Stebro, Moto-Concept, SWEuropean and of course there is the factory sport exhaust option.

I originally had the regular factory exhaust on my v8, tried straight pipes but found them too loud, so i now have a lotus sports exhaust. I hear the TUBI is a very nice sound, but its a little too expensive.

cheers

Same thing I'm thinking about for my '99.

Call JAE. www.jaeparts.com/

They've got the Quicksilver in stock in two different layouts standard and center exit like the 2002's. Let us know what you end up doing and how you like it.
