When I read about Gatso''s, heavy fines, safety vans, points on your license, etc... then we don''t have it so bad in Belgium after all. Sure, there are Gatso''s, but they are few and far between, and most of the time the pictures are so out of focus that the police can''t read the licence plate. The points system has been held up in parlement for 8 years now, although that might change now that the Green Party is in the governement. The maximum fine is around £200, unless you have to appear in court. I was stopped a few years ago, doing 115mph on a 75mph road, overtaking where you couldn''t (well, I could) and got away with a £130 fine.
