I passed a black LHD GT this morning at the houses of parliment, middle age guy with a kid ...

Smashing motor, anyone here

not sure about the wood gear knob

Its to comemorate porsche racers of old which to save weight had balsa wood shifters.

Also all GT's are LHD

Yup before the days of carbon fiber and kevlar they used balsa wood for things like gear knobs to save weight, the wooden gear knob in the GT is a not to Porsches old racing heritage.

Thats it then I dont want a LHD motor so I am not buying one

Searching back in my mind somewhere - wasn't it specifically from 908.... Can't quite remember, I'll look it up!

Think that was it. Mine had a black leather gearknob instead, which I preferred, for some reason thought the original colour with a black/black car looked naff. Then I regretted changing anything about the original spec!!!
