Desperate for your 997 turbo?

It's up to ebay and Porsche... if Porsche exercise enough leverage it'll get taken down. Can't see it's much different from selling inflated Robbie Williams tickets at twice face value myself - and even ticket agencies do that quite legitimately. That said, it does encourage speculators, so maybe like when they say 'tickets collected only by passport holder' they need to do the same with the V5.

Porsche may say they care, but tbh they couldnt give 2 hoots. As long as someone pays for the thing come Novemeber, and then even if they dont they can soon sell it on to the next guy on the list or to walk through the door. What people dont realise with over list sales is that if del miles 997TT are fetching List plus £20k on the open market it makes the actual list price from Porsche look 'cheap' in comparison, and supports the sale of any used stock as well as hyping the car itself with free marketing. What could be better? "Our cars are so good people are prepared to pay a £20k premium to have one now"

Dion - agree, and the only Porsche exception I know of was a friend of mine who advertised his GT the week it was due to arrive thru the Sunday Times. They pulled the car, it got nasty, and they tried to keep his deposit. At the time he was talking 400k for it....bet Porsche wouldn't mind if he got offers at that level for it now...!

From what I can remember there was a clause in the contract of sale for Carrera GT that said the car was not allowed to be advertised before delivery. Hence, in this case Porsche would have had grounds to hold the car and retain deposits etc....
Its about cars going to people who WANT to own them, not those after a quick buck...

A year ago an independant offered me a 997TT for delivery at launch (so around now) for £5k over list....seems like a bargain now to me !

Not a bright independant either - how can he value a car 12 months ahead of launch? Sounds like he's bought the car from an OPC using a friends name and then just badly guessed its premium. I've been surprised at the list plus 20 bids on these, that was about 430 money in Q2 2005, but they were always going to be more than 5k over retail
