I don't know if this is a common experience........????????????

Coming off the motorway last Friday and go onto a backroad. Taking a corner at 80 mph and hear a bleep, glance at the OBC and oil pressure warning light on. Big panic, brown trousers and glance at the pressure gauge on RHS of dash - needle at 0Bar then back up to 3.5.

I stopped the car, said 3 hail mary's, checked the oil level - fine. I started the engine and the car runs as sweet as a nut back home slowly for 3 miles.

Long story short, faulty pressure gauge but a big frightener. OPC Edinburgh claim it is the first time they have seen it and ironically the car was booked in on Monday for a service. I had the car transported over to them on delivery truck.

Think Ballcock had an oil pressure indication issue of some kind.

I'm sure he'll be along in a bit.

I think mine was a little different, I never got the warning light , the gauge just used to get stuck at 2 bars one the engine warmed up .. Scared the crap out of me til I get it fixed though .. They had to change the complete binnacle .. under warranty thankfully , the binnacle alone cost £700 ish.

Did the OPC tell you if they changed the binnacle or the sender .. The senders seemingly go quite frequently .

Dunno ....... I'm going to have to check in with the wife from time to time too .. That's definitely going to impact on my hit rate!!

I had that 2 weeks ago...on my c4s.

Didn't get the oil warning light, but did get oil failure indicator warning along with pressure at 0. Prior to it dropping to 0 and triggering warning i did notice pressure was at 5 regardless of revs.

Hatfield OPC replaced Oil Pressure Switch under warranty, so far all seems ok. ( The fault was intermittent)

Edited to say I got Porsche assist out to take car to OPC but as warning message but no warning light, they said it was fine to drive

Car back today alive and well and £800 lighter as it was a 4 year service plus additional parts. Amazing scene today at OPC Edinburgh as 2 Carerra GTs were delivered back to the centre after some work at Reading. Exhaust note was wonderful
