993 dash warning lights - quick Q
Discussion
A couple of times there's been a light which has stayed on for a couple of seconds when I turn the ignition on. It always goes out but I'm curious as to what it means.
It's bottom left of the oil level/pressure gauge and looks something like this (->.<-) but with the dot in the middle of the arrows.
Normally I'd look at the owners manual but seeing as my foresight at school wasn't terribly good I ended up reading Spanish instead of German, so it's no use to me.
Can anyone enlighten me on what it means. Am guessing it's brake pad sensors covered in dirt/dust.

Ric, not in the car now,,,but it sounds like the brake accumulator pump getting pressure in the tank. When you start Rs/TT cars you get this whirring from the front below fuel tank. This can last for 10-30 secs depending on how long car has stood idle, whirring stops and light goes out once pressure is built up...Brakes still work, as presumably you are going at slow speed anyhow at first.
