Steve and Tim thanks for the hospitality at Brands yesterday.Good to meet you guys after all the forum banter and thanks for your time. .I can now see why you buy/drive gt3's coz i think the tt would shag its brakes after 3 laps with that sort of driving.Next time Tim maybe i can hop in with you as long as you can guarantee to get away from the geezer in the CSLAny chance of air conditioning as well?Oh and by the way Steve i think you need to sort out that understeer otherwise people will think you have had a 4wd conversion....

I love Gt3's which is why i bought one originally. However i dont track(i may do after yesterday)and dare i say it but irrespective of other peoples opinions i know the tt is miles better on the road than a gt3....If i start tracking the 'barge' may have to go but not until then...as i said taking the tt round yesterday would have been hard work and guaranteed me knackered brakes and tyres very quickly...its simply just to heavy...but bloody quick on the road....

I'll second that - Thanks for the insight yesterday guys. Thanks Steve for the trip round - great experience, especially with slicks and those brakes....
Tim, money well spent on your car - looked great, and was the best sounding car of the day.... BTW, how did you get on with the Carbon wheels and slicks - they looked fantastic.

Anyway, good to meet you guys - will catch up again sometime.....

I got there after 12 and had to leave at 3~ish. Had a couple of laps with Steve Rance in his RS - he can drive a bit!

He took my car out for an assesment for a few laps. Then I had to go. I will get the understeer and brake bias looked at before I track it.

I met some good people, but I'm really annoyed I didn't get to put a face to some of the names on here - I would have liked to have met KayC and MButchers and all the rest. I'm sure there'll be a next time!

im intrigued. the titanic guys were at donny a few weeks ago with their 996rs's and my 964rs didnt sound any louder and we were all in the same garage, yet mine is supposedly over 105dB and all you guys (presumably) passed brands gp's 101dB test. is it being enforced at brands? or is mine quieter than i thought ? anyone got a noise meter?

Great to see you guys. Sorry that I couldn't spend more time with you. We got the car working well in the afternoon with a great balance. Quick. Got a session in Tims car, It's the quickest Gt3 I've driven and its got a lovely balance. As a guide, a standard GT3RS would pull about 135mph before the braking zone at Hawthorn, in the Parr Car its about 142. In Tims car, I was showing 148MPH! Mad........ unless he's upgraded the speedo

My standard 996 RS seems to be 98db static whenever I've had it tested if that's any guide?

Great to see you guys !
In the afternoon I had a good tussle with the CSL
i then took the driver out in the RS and afterwards
he said he is going to buy one !
I was just saying on our Titanic forum what a great
day Motorvision put on for us - I never saw more than
4 cars queuing at any one time + it was very relaxed
and they put on some good grub at lunch

cheers

Thats the sixth type of exhaust that has been on the car
the majic number is between 100-101dB the 1st one came in at 108dB
but was very top end peaky !
I tried this at SPA 18 months ago
Now the exhaust has better mid-range grunt with a lower dB
The car is having a new one tested next week

What mods does Tim's car have? Is this the one I saw at Spa with the slightly stripped interior with scrutineer's stickers on the cage and a racing steering wheel and metal pedals?
