996 2002 targa missing key...
Discussion
Just bought a 2002 Targa but it's only got one key.... Porsche want 80+vat for remote 60+vat for the key and 90+vat for an hours work.... seems over the top to me... Anyone know a way around using a local dealership? failing that, does anyone know who has owned a seal grey 2002 TIPs targa reg AY51LWC
Arran,
I had the remote replaced on the Cab in August last year after the original lost the will to live. That was £87+VAT for the remote. I didn't need a key and the labour was £49.50+VAT. It has to be done at a Porsche centre. They get the codes from Germany and recode the new remote.
There was also something on the bill called "Support" which was £28.23+VAT. Probably the cost of the call to Germany.
It looks like your OPC are a bit OTT on labour ie. 1 hour, but the rest looks OK.
