...A 993 Carrera on track and... WOW what a machine!

Tyhere was not a single thing about it that I didn't like (a rarity for me).

The power was wonderful, the noise intoxicating and the brakes just sensational.

Is it wrong that I felt like I could have used every last little bit of every one of its attributes?

I enjoyed every nano-second of my experience, even the understeer

To the guys that have them: You must be pleased as punch.

The last one with proper beetle-feeling: steep windscreen and pukka cooling fin engine sound! Although the later ones still give a similar feeling.

No I'm not joking. That car is perfect. There is not one single thing about it that I would have changed if I could. I loved the way it went, I adored the way it stopped and I loved the feel that you're using the car's handling whilst still well within the limits of its grip and capabilities.

The only way I could improve on that is if I had my own. One day, maybe.

Welcome to the fold my son.

I bought mine about eighteen months ago. the ownership experience just gets better and better. Right now I can't imagine ever getting rid of it.

Not a 993 owner but a 964'er myself. Had it for a fortnight and can't imagine wanting to drive anything else (with the exception of one of the widebody 993s) ever again. Sounds brilliant, looks ace, crazy upright windscreen and ergonomics that look like someone at the factory loaded all the necessary switches into a shotgun, took three steps back and fired at the dashboard.

Quick, too....

Seriously though I don't think I've ever wanted a car more.

IMHO I think the 964 sounds miles better than the 993...though the later car does have more progressive (& safer) handling. Interiors are virtually identical...but I think the outside is open to individual opinion...I think both win ...but in different ways!!!
