Looking for a Porsche place to break the boredom of work. Which forums are the most active for UK Porsche folks??

Rennlist, Porsche-1, 911uk, and this one right here.

PH is the best though

rennlist - massive base of info, lots of posts, mainly American though, little about RS
porsche-1 - general all model chat
911uk - easy going general basic 911 info and banters, light hearted fun
PH - a bit more hardcore, and take driving Porsche seriously

Although not the most popular for banter, I'd argue that the PCGB forum is one of the best sources for general knowledge on the marque and mainstream models. There is also access to the various registers and their respective secretaries who can provide a wealth of technical info/knowledge.

The problem with Rennlist is that they do not cover Euro-specific models (Mk1 GT3, 964/993/996RSes) very well.

The best for the GT3 is not a forum, but the Titanic mailing list.

DDK Online is the best for early 911/912s.

I like rennlist. The yanks really know their stuff and add alot of unusual/ detailed knowledge...and they are a very friendly bunch.
Incidentally there are a lot of UK guys there now, and indeed from all over the world.
I'd say it's slightly more detailed and tech (eg. there are subforums for specific Porsche models) than Pistonheads which seems to be more for general and also newer models, so it depends what you want.

One must admit that this once-great forum on PH has recently been apparently targeted by trolls. There's a lot of bullshit posts being made by certain individuals that's seriously reducing the signal-to-noise ratio.

There have been plenty of threads that have been hijacked by the comedy crew recently as well.

As an unloved outsider, I'd prefer these forums not to get too cliquey. Bah humbug, I'm in a bad mood today.

Porsche Club GB is the only Porsche dedicated forum I have looked at. I find it quite informative.

OK to solve this I think I have the solution.

you cant speak to people outside PH, no meets, no lemans, no MSN conversations everything has to be in public on the forum . . . .

the trolls have been weeded out by the mods AND certain people on here, these people know who they are and the "in" gags are about them! dont worry we are just messing with their heads to make them go away and make this a better place.

I will admit, if I need to find an answer to somthing ill use the search, then try a few combinations and if I dont get an answer ill post, people just posting a new thread without searching, that is open season for others to hijack the thread and that is why its happening, IMHO

just my 2p
