Took my Porker onto the track for the first time. Did a Brands Hatch evening on Tuesday. First time at Brands, first time on a track in the 911 ('88 3.2 Targa).

Did it with the roof off which just added to the sensation

Have to say the car felt sublime (thanks to Paragon who fettled it a couple of weeks ago) and we managed to embarass some far more powerful machinery (hope the bloke in the '05 plate 997 whose arse I sat on for 10 laps isn't on here ).

After all of the "it'll spit you off backwards the first time you upset it" horror stories I have to say the car was nothing but predicatable and progressive and capable of carrying huge speed through corners - loved it !!

Hit the brakes for Paddock at 100, turned in at 65 ish. Couldn't look at Druids as I nearly outbraked myself every lap !! Took the first part of Surtees with a "confidence" lift as I got quicker and delighted in the car drifting through the left/right combo.

It's not what you've got, it's what you do with it. I've embarrased far more expensive machinery for whatever reason but it mechanical sympathy, new driver, warm up/cool down etc. But at the end of the day, if you come away grinning, that's all that matters. But spanking better machinery is always good.
