I have just bought a 996 c4s on an 05 plate, spec is as follows;

911 Carrera 4S Coupe 996
Manual Transmission
Basalt Black Metallic Paint
Black Full Leather Upholstery
18" Turbo II Alloy Wheels
Colour Wheel Crests
CD Changer
Heated Seats
Rear Park Assist
Porsche Communication Management (PCM)
Telephone Module for PCM
Rear Wiper
05/05 Registration
2500 Miles

I have not driven the car or any porsche actually, I am coming from an Audi S4 cab, what will the performance difference be like.

I currently have a mamas and papas car seat, will it fit in the porsche, I have seen the seat in the 997, is the interior space the same? will it be possible to get a pram in there?

does anyone have the details of the standard spec for the 996 carera 4s?

if i drive like miss daisy, what do you think the mpg will be?

your help will be much appreciated, due to collect teh car next friday, will post pics when i get it.

shouldn't this read "If I drive like miss daisy what will be the point?"

Nice car enjoy and don't worry about depreciation, rms, mpg etc etc or you may aswell leave at the garage....

Why didn't you test drive it before you bought it.....??!!

Do you mean the V8 S4 or the 2.7 Biturbo ?

It will be slightly quicker than the former, and noticeably quicker than the latter!

sorry can't be bothered to list total std spec but of your list

Manual Transmission
18" Turbo II Alloy Wheels
Black Full Leather Upholstery
Metallic Paint

are std as are leccy seats, windows, mirrors / aircon / turbo body (w/o rear wing) / turbo suspension / turbo wheels/tyres

approx cost of options

Colour Wheel Crests 100
CD Changer 400
Heated Seats 350
Rear Park Assist 350
Porsche Communication Management (PCM) 1800
Telephone Module for PCM 600
Rear Wiper 200

its a nice spec but sorely missing BOSE in my opinion

hope that helps

Great car and you'll love it - welcome to the Porsche club.

However, very ballsy move to buy a Porsche without ever test driving it - wouldn't recommend that.

agreed, madness!

you won't get a pram in as the 4wd reduces front boot space, even on 2wd you are limited to Porsche buggy and Quinny Zap I believe

you may stand corrected,

plus the car is a weekend car and all i will need is a pram and small bag.
