Anyone have a 996 owners manual they don't need???
Discussion
I have just bought a 2000 996 Carrera Cabriolet. Unfortunately, at some point, the owners manual seems to have been misplaced. Not a huge deal but I would like one lol. Especially as I'm not positive how the hardtop comes off
So if anyone no longer has their 996 but still has the manual, give me a call!! Failing that, where is a good place to pick one up?

Ebay is your freind as they sometimes come up on there. Alternative is OPC but at higher cost but probably not too bad.
Cab roof is fairly easy. You should have a red handled allan key thingy that unlocks the 2 rear fixings. Quarter turn and the direction is shown on the fixing for on or off. There are 2 plastic covers about the size of a 50p that come off to allow access for your allan key. As you turn, the roof will lift about 1 inch. The front is a pretty obvious handle above the rear view mirror. Once the 3 fixings are open the roof can be lifted off. It's a 2 man job. Not overly heavy but awkward. Just lift the rear up, move the whole thing back to release the front and away you go.
Suggest you get a storage stand and padded hard top bag for secure, safe storage.

Thanks for that, what are the hardtop's made of??? I assumed fibreglass but are they in fact aluminium?
The reason I ask is that there is some minor bubbling appearing at one of the edges where where moisture has got in through a small scratch perhaps? Whatever, I shall have to get it repaired / repainted. My local Bentley approved paint shop shall be in for some business
