993's C2/4 V's C2/4 "S"
Discussion
As a 996 driver I have never realy paid much attention to 993's, but a good friend is starting to look at them so thought better knowledge up on them.
The 993 does nothing for me but the "S" versions realy do look much better, the diffrence is far more than that on the 996..
So what do you get in the S, a wide body, but what else, there seems to be about £10k diffrance , well at Strasse anyway. For that extra money surly you get more power ect..
Can you please advise.

If I remember correctly - You get 18" turbo look alloys, lower suspension, arguably the sexiest looking rear-end to a 911 ever (wider body), the rear spoiler has two-panels in it (as opposed to a single continous slotted panel)
The 4S had better brakes (from the turbo)
As far as I can remember there was no performance advantage (other than having the 285BHP motor)
Bloody smashing motor though.

993 C2S had turbo body and M033 over the 993 C2
993 C4S had turbo body, turbo suspension, turbo brakes, better interior spec as standard (10 speaker, etc.)
Think of it like this:
a C2S is a wide C2, a C4S is a turbo but with less power and without the rear wing.

Nicely put Verysideways - the memories are flooding back to me now.

...also, the C2S (if it had 18" wheels when new) will have hollow spokes, while the 4S will have solid spokes. (To ID the wheels, hollow spoke will feel smooth behind the spokes and will have a metal valve stem; solid spoke will have a trough behind each spoke and rubber valve stem.)

VS, I think the C4S also came with M033 as standard, with M030 (turbo suspension) being an option. I've seen 3 different C4S's recently, all had M033...
As you say, C4S had a good standard equipment list, computer, full leather and sports seats as a NCO.
C2S has a couple of unique features - colour coded split rear grille, and gunmetal details (dash clock bezels, door kick plates, gearknob, handbrake handle)
I'll get me coat....
