Bit of a forlorn hope it seems .
I've been ringing around various hotel/guest houses to a radius of 40-50 miles from Le Mans this morning trying to acquire accommodation for 14th,15th and 16th June 2007 in order to attend the race ( I've never been before ).
All are fully booked .
Anyone have any ideas as to where I might find a place to stay ?

Not sure if you're aware, but there is a Le Mans forum section where you'll surely get many answers.

However, as a suggestion I would suspect that travel companies have booked them all up so if you want a hotel you would need to go via one of them. Alternatively, Camp! Camping is how to enjoy the full effect of the festival atmosphere of Le Mans

It is VERY difficult to get hotel accomadation and if you do you will miss out on the best bit of the Le Mans experience - Camping! (and heavy drinking drink )

I've tried this before and either they aren't taking bookings this early, or they are fully booked already (mostly by tour companies). If you find a way let me know, I went with a tour op last year and the hotel was crap - think I'd have preferred a tent! The year before however I stayed in a chateau organised by callendar classic tour company and it was very nice. Pricey though...

I have done le Mans several times and by far and away the best experience is to get on one of the camp sites that are actually inside the track. These become small towns of literally tens of thousands of like minded Brits. You cannot be too elaborate you will come across Full pig roasts, dining tables with candelabra. definitely take the barbie'.Contact Auto Club L'Ouest they will give you details of what is available. Also bit Lame this but if you can get hold of August Caravan Club Magazine they are doing an article on that very thing. Whilst on the subject does anyone think pulling a twin axle Burstner caravan is what may be having the detrimental effect on my C4S performance, particularly the acceleration.

Should've bought a 996tt - ample torque to pull a 'van

There is over a quarter of a million people who went this year. You either camp or fly home mate. Try the porsche club GB website as their trip is very well organised
