Before the current model, I don't think so ...but the current (997) model does have a C2S convertible; its called the Carrera S Cabriolet.

996 in wide body normally, aspirated form was 4 wheel drive only (the C4S or Carrera 4S to give it its correct title) for both Coupe & convertible (the latter being made for only 18mths or so)

A C2S was definately not in the 996 range in any shape or form.

Which I always thought was a real shame - I loved the 993 C2S but when they were new I could not afford one, as the years went by and I earnt a bit more I found myself in the fortunate position of being able to affod a new 996... I waited and waited for a C2S but it never came... never mind I had loads of fun while I waited.

I did mean the 996.
That's a shame that none were made. From what i have told the C2 has a larger boot than the C4, but the S is a nicer shape.
Is the C2 boot that much bigger that the C4?

Yup, the C4 gubbins takes up more than half of the boot.

C2's are fantastic. I have always aspired to a TT when (or more likely if) I have enough dosh to buy one.

However, having run my C2 for five months and felt how superbly balanced and "alive" it is, I really am beginning to wonder if I will ever want that diluted by 4 wheel drive
