Recently I've been so busy that the pork has been left in the garage for the past month.

The last time I drove it was to the TVR -v- Pork rolling road contest back in Sept.

Woke up early this morning to go into work and though that I might just cheer myself up a bit, enjoy the empty roads and drive the 993.

Opened up the garage being prepared that I'd have to jump start but it turned over first time. A few splutters and the engine roars into life. No doubt I woke the neighbours as the curtains started twitching.

Burble off down the road getting used to the car again and by the time I'm near the A-road the fluids are nicely up to temp.

At the t-junction, not a car in site. Decisions decisions. Right turn to the office. Left turn for a hoon.

scratchchin

Got into work 1 hour later than I should have done hehe

It's been so long since I drove it that I'd forgotten how it brakes, grips and powers out of the bends with a whiff of opposite lock on damp, dewy roads.

God, I love this car

Shame the drive home won't be anywhere near as much fun irked

I now think the daily snotter has 2 jobs, 1 to do the mundane A to B stuff and also to remind me what an RS is all about.

Does your alarm kill your battery?

I thought it would have done as the last time I put it in the garage I was in a rush and forgot to attach the trickle charger.

Battery should be nicely charged now

And how much time did you spend cleaning it afterwards ........

Mine is the daily driver and I get that feeling everytime I use it

Thats the cheapest upgrade you can do, run around in the 'family' car for a few weeks then marvel at how fast/nimble etc your porca feels when you drive it again

In a similar vein, just drove a 1.6 Focus C Max in Spain for a week and the contrast to the Porker when coming home was rather evident! Even my wife's CRV felt quick!

Yeah, I spent a week driving around in a Chevvy Impala!!!

Apart from a jet-lagged potter along the M4 yesterday, hadnt driven her in what seems like weeks...

Gave her a proper blast today, and my god did she perform - amazed me on the bumps too - hit some severe ones at *ahem* very high speed while braking for a corner, she turned in perfectly and gripped all the way through (and pretty sure a bump or two got one of the fronts off the ground with no ill effects)...

dont'cha just love em!

HA! .. This is giving me the perfect opportunity to blab on about my little drive yesterday ..
Ya see my car is used to go to and from work .. 11.3 statutes each way , each day, and don't I just love getting into the car to head off to work .. However , yesterday , I was instructed to run an errand of mercy for my company , which involved a 160 mile drive in the early afternoon (with crappy traffic a lot of the way) and a 160 mile return journey at 2am .. Slightly , ahem , quieter roads.

WOW!! .. What a journey home .. I'm not going to incriminate myself , but the drive time was halved , and every roundabout produced uncontrollable 'whooping'and 'yeeeeehawing' from the (sad old git of a ) driver..

You've got a particularly beautiful car there S.E. , but I'm just bowled over anew , by my inappropriately coloured, basement 996 .

P.S. ... Checked toady ...The coolant's in the coolant tank (not in the engine), oil is in the sump (Not on the ground UNDER the engine) and the cylinder cracks of my nightmares still remain figments of my nightmares ... WHAT A CAR!!!! lick

Top man. Glad you enjoyed it. I have a 250 mile run to Bolton tomorrow and as sad as I am I am looking forward to it very much.

Spotted the C4S at uncle H's you mentioned. Got your name all over that one B - think you should plan another trip to blightly just to go and have a look. You know there would be no danger of buying it or anything..........

My 928 has been off the road for two weeks since the alternator decided it didn't want to play any more. Finally got the new one fitted late on Saturday, but she ran with a dreadful miss-fire (so I didn't do the N'Hants run today). Finally this morning tracked the problem down to a bad HT lead and a problem with damp in the dizzy-cap. Car is now all setup and idles fine. Guess which car I'm going to take to work tomorrow bouncebounce
