Thought I'd share two extremes of car ownership with one thing in common- air cooling!

If anyone knows how to paste the actual picture in I'd be most grateful for tekkie advice.

Cheers

If I owned the Carrera GT mate it would be there in a flash. Other than that I am clean out of car porn.

By the way I know it will be frowned upon but what is the thinking on changing my steering wheel on the 993tt? It is a blue airbag one and I fancy a more up to date version but it may not be worth the hassle/cost? Advice appreciated!

think its fine to change to the 996 3 spoke one if this is possible

(I would too, the 993 four spoke is possibly the second worse looking steering wheel I have ever seen after the square Allegro one)

Thanks. I rang Porsche and they had no idea so I figured the PH forum would be the best place to ask. I keep looking at the blue monstrosity in front of me thinking it is the only thing spoiling the car.

That looks great. Looks like a early seventies.

I've got a 66 complete with 6volt electrics and sloping headlamps to keep my 993 company.

55 Oval mmmm!. 54 or 55 oval is one of the cars in my dream garage. In fact if I had somewhere to keep it I would buy one now. Unfortunately, it's the cost and availability of storage space that is ruling it out rather than the cost of the car itself.

I have the 996 3 spoke airbag wheel in my 993 Carrera - it was a straight swap and I'm sure it has an identical steering column/boss to a 993tt, in fact I bought it from Aceparts who has a 993tt, so I think its pretty well certain. You may find it tricky to get hold of a blue one though, don't know.

And in reply to another post I don't think the 993 wheel is the second worst, as I would (just) favour it over the standard 944 steering wheel - so third place to the 993 wheel.

The blue 3-spoker for the 993 is nigh on impossible to get - I've tried - Even Gert says that it's not available.

I was toying with the idea of having a look at a more modern metropole blue one to see how it matches (not quite the right colour, but it might look OK).

If you manage to locate a supplier, be sure to let me know!
