Has anyone out there uprated their headlights?

I recently changed from 986 to 987 and found the standard driving lights (not main beam) pretty poor - if not bloody dangerous. The lights on 986 were fine !!

I noticed that the Cayman reviews also commented on this - I guess that they want us to upgrade at huge expense.

The local dealer said that they do not recommend increasing the power due to warranty issues blah blah...................

Any thoughts/experience on replacing with Philips GT150 or similar??

I recently put some Philips "Vision Plus" bulbs in the wife's shopping car and the difference is tremendous - definitely the best option wihtout Xenons - and they are the correct voltage, so no risk of melting the lights. Got them online from powerbulbs.com or similar.

I drove our 987 in the dark for the first time since we bought it and I also was very dissapointed with the lights.

Appears I am not alone.

I have a 986 and the headlights arent poor but they arent brilliant either, im considering buying some brighter bulbs, noticed some xenon style ones are they any good???
