Hi guys, been pointed to this forum by my brother who thought someone might have a clue about the Sachsenring. I fancy going to watch the MotoGP there next year as it's the closest race to my 30th birthday, I'm sure I can get there ok but I have a few questions: do many brits go there? is it all on a campsite or is there other accommodation available? does the campsite have good facilities? (I want to take my wife so reasonable showerblocks/clean toilets etc are a must if this is to come off)

www.sachsenring-circuit.com/index_en.htm

Camping near the circuit plus under the service menu lots of hotels to try.

thanks mate, only problem is that doesn't really give any info about the campsite, just says there is one. Has anyone stayed there? The hotel in Hohenstein-Ernstthal is v. close but already full... bugger.

Me and a mate did Hockenhiem last year for the DTM Finale. Decided to go Thursday afternoon, at the docks Thursday night, parked up 4pm on a campsite Friday.

I'd say - get tickets, get ferry booked and go there early. The Germans are so damned efficient that I'd say camping/showers/entertainment will all be on site. Obviously the MGP is more popular than DTM but you should have no troubles at all.

Have you considered the Le Mans 24 hours instead? That would seem to fit your requirements.
