To save me from blue book agony, can anyone advise if PROBAN suits will be acceptable for speed events in 2007?

I'm thinking of something like this.

This is for someone who might be double driving my car at a few events next season and might pack it up if they don't like it (not the missus by the way ).

It's going to be a Christmas present to him from someone with a budget.

The fact that it will be a Christmas present procludes the option of a second hand purchase.

I'd rather not get in to a safety debate here if you don't mind. All I'm after is an answer to the question.

Thanks,

Eric

CT - I know you've already said this is the case so forgive me if it seems like I'm doubting you. I just want to be absolutely certain.

......but I've already got a suit Eric hehe

Eric, without checking the Blue Book either, I'd agree with CT. There are a lot of drivers around the paddock with Proban ones

They are acceptable currently, and I haven't heard any plan to change that. Nomex is obviously better in many respects, but Proban suits are still widely used in speed competitions.

I have seen several people at Scottish and Highland events wearing single layer suits and I am fairly sure they are Proban.

Any scrutineers here ??

In 2006 Proban was fine. I imagine things'll be the same for 07. You could phone Nicola (Trevor's sister) as she's a scrutineer. Email Trevor?

There has been no announcments that Proban will not be allowed for National Speed events next year, so you should be OK.
