Over at 911uk.com we were going to have a christmas collection
i have over 800 visits a week to my website, if they all gave a £1.
Heres a true story
3 years ago i sold a car on December the 23rd to gentleman in Herts.
He broke his spine, spent time in Stoke Mandeville hospital, was told he'd never walk again
Amazingly he recovered
Every xmas he goes back to the hospital dressed as father xmas and gives presents to the children
BUT HE DOES IT WITH HIS OWN MONEY
I get 800 hits a week on my website
If you all gave £1 just think what a difference it could make
So please make a transfer to
Lloyds TSB Redruth sort code 30/88/22
account no 11279068
S M PEARCE
the balance on 18/12 goes to buy the presents
And a copy of the statement will also go to Ted at Pistonheads for verifiation.

Why does this sort of post get my anoyed?
If eveyone paid £1 .... blah blah blah, if everone in the country paid 1p we would have a lot of money........ blah blah. If everyong supported every request for good causes we would be bust.
Is this a registered charity?
Your a low poster, your last started topic was also self advertising, you dont contribute much here do you ?
Asking for money for a 'good cause' is IMHO not appropriate on this sort of forum. (althought the hamster Air ambulance fund was an unusual exception)

Superlightr.
This is an honest and honourable appeal on behalf of those much less fortunate than you.
I do not propose to indulge in a slanging match with you on this forum on the merits or otherwise of such an appeal, other than to say that I sincerely hope that neither you nor any of your family end up in Stoke Mandeville , but if that did ever happen , be mindful that others would very probably be making similar appeals on your behalf.

No slanging match required. Im noting the appeal of the OP which looks self promotional, as per his other started topics. He is a low poster, who self promotes and a healthy warriness is sensible.
Not questioning the merits of Stoke Mandeville.
THIS appeal is for a guy who was at SM who recovered and now goes back and buys and give out kids presents who are staying at SM. Not medical treatment/machines.
Do the children there not have presents from their own family and friends?
I do tend to question where/why I spend my money, hence why others may be 'less fortunate' then me as you nicely put it.
If my children were in SM then I would not expect strangers to buy them presents. Perhaps if they wanted to contribute to medical care generally then thats up to them or a registered charity or a fund towards an air ambulance is a different matter.
