I know its a long shot, but my S2 had a similar problem, and it turned out to be the glove box light. The glove box locking mechanism is a bit fragile, and if it gets damaged then the knob to open it doesn't return to the normal position after opening. This means that the door never quite closes (although it looks like it has) and the light inside stays on. All I needed to do was to force the keyhole on the knob to the horizontal position to be sure that the door was properly closed. Took 2 batteries to find out tho rolleyes

I hope it is as easy as that for you.

Answered on another thread but Club Autosport in Birmingham, they also do a good job fitting them so I've heard.

I had the same problem and the solution was very simple.
The glove compartment has a black switch/lever which engages with the door to switch the light off.
This can become dislodged when taking items out off glove compartment.
After trying everthing I had almost given up when to my surprise I found the missing lever/switch under the passenger seat, put it back in, now no power drain, provided I leave the car unlocked when in the garage to avoid the alarm system draining the battery which it will do if the car has not been driven for about a week
Hope this helps
