Dunlop tyres now permitted in Britsports

The Britsports Championship for sports prototype cars has opened up its series to Dunlop – equipped cars.

Britsports caters for an eclectic mix of cars, ranging from Radicals to Supersport and endurance sports-prototypes. This new rule allows many competitors from Dunlop supported series to also contest the Britsports Championship.

Dunlop’s relentless development of sports car racing tyres is resulted in the Britcar series of races for GT/supercars becoming Britain’s fastest national GT event, with lap times eclipsing those for similar cars in the British GT series in 2006. Now, it is hoped the sister Britsports series can benefit from a similar performance boost.

James Bailey of Dunlop stated: “Drivers and teams want to extract the ultimate performance from these sports prototypes, and it is clear that Dunlop’s vast experience in sportscar racing, born from 34 wins in the Le Mans 24 hour race, will help boost the series”

Looks like I might be showing up for the first one, at Silverstone, if my car survives the week before at Jarama!
