After a cheap low entry trolley jack for changing the wheels over at home.

Doesn't have to neccessarily be a lightweight aluminium one as can't see me taking it to track - never enough space for spare wheels anyway - but does have to be good price

I picked up a good 'un from Costco for just over £80 which seems very well engineered and rolls under my mk1 GT3 with about 5 - 10mm to spare.

MachineMart have ones for about £28-£35 which are failrly low entry - 2tonne jobs - I think the Costco one was a 3tonne - a lot bulkier.

You missed a bulk buy organised through the blatchat forum:

http://dev.syxis.co.uk/bulkbuy/

Word doc with more details:

http://dev.syxis.co.uk/bulkbuy/detail

I'm expecting to collect mine next week.

willdew - that looks like just the job - is there anyway of getting one - the 20 odd pages in the thread only go up to Sept 06?

The costco jack is quality. Perfect for Gt3 too. Most others I looked at would never get under the sills.

Tis an Arcan male and is 2T rated. No loghtweight but a good piece of kit.

Probably the only 2 tonner i've seen that'll get under my car.

MachineMart has a 1.5T lightweight for about £90 if you don't have a Costco card.

Dunc

Edit - The two above are the only ones I know of which are readily available and can get under low 911s (GT3 / GT3RS). Not sure if your car (964RS i presume) has got more clearance.

These are v nice but pricey (£2-300): www.ac-hydraulic.dk/uk/Hydraulic%20workshopjacks.htm

I think the DK20 is sold in the UK by Sealey and the others are available through Partco. The DK13HLQ is nice because it has a long reach meaning you can lift the back of a 911 by the engine.

The order arrived in Felixtow at the end of last week, and is being distributed across the country this week to all those who bought and paid up front in about October time.

They ordered:
Spanners: 384 Wrenches: 500 Jacks: 411 Toolboxes: 172

It's too late to add an order to the list, but if you posted on the general forum here and also blatchat I'm sure there'll have been people who bought a few extra to sell on. The jack is supposed to be a Chinese copy of the Michelin low entry aluminum jack that retails for a few hundred quid normally.
