Went to see one today local to me....

14600 miles ,Wht/Red , £66k

The car from a distance looked beautiful , it definatley confirmed my choice of buying one soon!Unfortunatley when looking closley, the ceramic discs were just about shagged , the front end was littered with chips (chips are normal but this was rediclious) , parts of the graphics peeling off and the underside looked as though it had done 100k!

All in all i still want one 100% , the colour scheme , mad wing , carbon bits and the basic interior caged out with lovley bucket seats does it for me 100% so i shall continue my search!

Private sale or trader? If you are not interested why will you not say where it is?

I'd guess it must be this one....

http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/

With the stickers in the window I'm guessing it's been used properly on track, hence the stone chips.

Depends how close you get to the back of other cars.... I know from when I raced the nose of the car was always blasted and chipped to death?

When I'm tracking now I hang well back, but often see people inches from the back of other cars through corners.

SpeedY , do the RS's have the same undealseal/protection as other 996's , may be a daft question but the rust underneath was literally unreal!

I have seen the car on a couple of track days, lastly at Elvington nr York.

Originally it was owned by somebody of titanic and has had 2 or 3 owners - quite suprised though as last time i saw it it looked okay.(mind you it took a hammering at elvington)

It was up for sale on here a while back in the late 50's

Cheers

Mine has a coating of wax on the bottom of it, no idea if this is less than a normal car? But it's not just a painted finish.

But mine has had small repair to the bottom after running over a rock so don't know if it was waxed at that time?

Wax over the paint? If so someones had this done. Was considering doing it on mine but haven't got around to it.
