Dont know if the same applys but my 964 settles around 2 at idle, 4 sounds very high, but like I say may differ between models.

Don't panick, get the oil pressure sender unit changed first. These can often play up. Many years ago I had just forked out a lot of money for a complete rebuild on a 3.2 carrera super sport (new barrels, pistons, etc) and whilst running in the oil pressure started to drop. Almost zero on idle. Turned out to be nothing more than the sender unit. As far as I know this engine is still going strong since it was rebuilt in 1994 and is still racing today.
