Saw this article, and thought the ending was so funny I had to share it with you guys. Basically the racing got rained off at the final round stage of nostalgia top fuel, so they sourced a few golf buggies and flag started a race down the track (and back!) for the honours!

Now that is why Nostalgia drag racing rules, can't see Tony Schumacher and Doug Kalitta sorting the 2006 championship this way, can you?

Enjoy! I know i did!

It would save me a lot of heartache if all races were like this. Next time it rains at SCR I'll know who to call to keep the crowd entertained!

Just send Hodgy up in the dragster, he likes going sideways We managed to see both sides of the dragster at the start of the 06 season and that was at half track!!

OK, so with windchill it was -2, but hey, it was fun!

Yea I have to admit the car was quite sideways! And to prove that!...

And from the front!

Definitely a experience!

Good job Bob went up in smoke there, looks like you gave him a bit of a fright! I didn't see that run but I remember hearing the collective gasp of all watching.

Still, all good training for being a Fuel Altered pilot. All you need to do now is 'tip the can' wobble

Joe, out of interest, how hard is it to try and pull the car back once its gone off line ?

I appreciate you've not got the lock of a road car, and I guess a solid diff, so are you really just along for the ride ?

It's a bit of a handful to control, and you need to be rolling to get any steering at all because of the overhang of the fuel tank and stuff.

With the altered if it wants to go somewhere you can fight it to a point, but theres a point where you got to let it have it's head and let it go there, otherwise it will only bite your harder.. I think it's classed as 'The lesser of two evils'

Still, it's half the reason I bought it, plus you only get postbox like vision, which makes it interesting too!
