happy to organise a pistonheads fantasy f1 for this season as i am more than likely doing one at work, just pm with your details.

intend to try something different this year and try a scoring method rewarding reliability rather than just the top eight points scorers. will be excel based and will email table after each race and put up leaderboard here.

lets try to get the scoring sorted before the first race, as a starter for ten....as for drivers teams, might try something different based on last years championship finishing order rather than the traditional "budget" method of team selection. eg, only one driver from those who finshed 1st to 5th, another driver form hose who finshed 6th to 10th etc?!? the reason for this is to stop people buying alonso and massa, then a poor chassis as this is always the way the winning entrants do it. i think it should open up the championship a bit more....!!??!?!

qualifying:
1st 20 points to 20th 1 point
race:
1st 25, 2nd 20, 3rd 17 4th 13 5th 10, 6th 7 7th 5 8th 4 9th 3 10th 2 all other finishers 1

bonus 2 points for every place made on starting position.
eg start 2nd, finish first would equal 19 (q) + 25 (r) + 2 (b) = 46

other bonus points to consider; both drivers on podium? driver of the day?

any ideas? not sure how to do teams yet, should it mirror the drivers or be weighted differently?

Trouble with that this year is 2 new drivers in top teams.

Id join up, but it might be easier to just go with a web based one that takes care of everything.

good point, was thinking on the cuff as it were. web ones just annoy me with the budget approach to the league which does not produce good results and everybody relies on good drivers rather than a whole team approach. can anyone think if a better approach than just making up monetary figures for drivers?

also havea look at sportdaq on the bbc web page and the motorsport section!

I run a fantasy F1 for a gang of mates. We classify the teams & constructors in three bands, and have hanicaps/penalties depending on the banding.

(It's £20 a season, prize fund allocation to be decided upon the number of entrants )
