I was intending to book with EAPH but have now decided to 'go it alone' like last year. Club stands are being charged ten quid a car and not permitted to run in the concourse on the driveway. So I'm opting for the cheap seats again (tight git)and will have a wander down to see you'al during the day.

I got an e-mail this morning. Haven't looked at it yet but from what you say they haven't learned from last year, when it was not only expensive but badly organised.

I'll circulate the info, options and ideas to everyone on the PHEA mailing list a bit nearer the time.

Yep, I got the same email this morning. I havn't had time to study it yet as today was the first of my Son,s friends funerals. Not a good day. Its the other one tomorrow. A really bad end to the week.

Looks to me like a EAPH convoy to the show ensuring you park up together (FOC).I really could'nt see any benefit to rolling up as a car club, its really very odd the way they seem to be doing this. Of course 4 quid to the charity for the local kiddies hospice has to be a really worthwhile contribution.

Yes and yes. The so-called 'Club Stand' last year was useless in every way. I think we'll go for a nearby RV and then burst in mob-handed, but more of that later.

I got the same email also, I am interested in going again as long as I'm not away as its the last day of my 2 week holiday....

I will go along with whatever is organised, I didn't think much of our positioning last year.......

Nor any of us! From an affordable, well-run show it lost the plot last year.

Did we go back to the organiser last year with these comments? It may be worth getting in early and making sure they put club displays in the same area as all the single entrants the other side of the drive.... I think there was room for it...

IIRC very few clubs attended last year or any previous year which has me pondering as to wether they really want clubs at all. They do not have a vast display ground and so many one marque clubs display 3 of the same model or more if you get my drift. Of course the event is organised alongside the East Anglian car club, so perhaps they don't like competition

In previous years the organisers would simply reserve us a chunk of space - just like every other car show in fact. It was a simple, cheap idea that worked perfectly for several years. Then they decided to replace it with an expensive one that doesn't. Couple that with a PHer who paid £20 for a ticket which didn't arrive (and he almost wasn't allowed in) and my ticket which got sent to the wrong address, the occupants of which were on holiday...

I was part of the EA Lotus Club "display" on the other side of the whirlygig musical thingy to the PH stand last year. I think we fared only slightly better than you boys ... the artic musical box certainly put people off, but agreed, from the main event the clubs were somewhat out on a limb. Better if they were the other side of the drive as that's where the main flow of people was.

On the whole though, must say that my partner & I had a really enjoyable day wandering around, good weather, great classic & sport cars on show (what it's all about?) & a real hoot when the falconer "lost" his kestrel!!!

Ah, that would be Murph (I assume short for Murphy but could be wrong). He always bu99ers off at these shows. Very entertaining. I could be wrong, but I think this is him.
