Fastest Porsche Record ???

Hi

Hopefully I will be attempting to take some Porsche 1/4 records later this year..

Anyone know what the fastest Porsche record is at the Pod ?

I will be trying to beat the new Carrera GTs 11.8 ...

And possibly the Veyrons 10.00 at 147....

Don't know about the Pod, I'm pretty sure no-one has probably bothered keeping records of "the fastest porsche", "the quickest trabant" thats ever been down the 1320 at a rwyb. Maybe Andy will prove me wrong!

But...

Eddie Bello's US Pro Import 911 runs mid 8's @ 180+mph which would be something to aim for if you were looking for records.

A street 911 4wd turbo won a street competition at the pod a couple of years ago , ran something like 10.8. Car was owned (?) modified by a Porsche specialist from near Warrington IIRC.

Well hopefully I will beat that lol

I do like it when my 21 year old V8 rumbles up and beats the 6 cylinder Porsches with the fancy electronics etc...

By then I "should" be running at around 800 hp....300 ish normal and 500 ish Nitrous...

800 hp........as Santa Pod has a very good traction,
I would be afraid of slipping clutch, breaking gears or snapping driveshafts.
Are you running Slicks or treaded tires ?

Running normal road tyres (although I have moved up from 7 x 16 to 10 x 18)

Ah well if something breaks ,I will fix or replace it

I'm surprised that a Carrera GT only runs 11.8?
I have done that time in my totally stock down to the run flat tyres C6 Z06.
You'll have to go alot better than 10.0 to get near the quickest cars in the series, which are low 9s / high 8s. There was a 911 Turbo in the series a while back but it was fairly stock so not really fair to compare against yours. 500 shot of gas? Good luck with the crankshaft / driveshafts / gearbox / clutch etc!

I am only doing this for fun...as I used to be on a Top Fuel team...I know how much time and effort it takes to run a season...and with the businesses I own, I just dont have the time..

Taking a few Porsche 1/4 records and maybe a few 200 mph+ VMAX records will be enough for me
