Just a quick well done to all the Guys out on the grid for the first time at the weekend. I think the racing went well and everyone played their part.

I hope you all enjoyed it, the first race is always somthing special to remember, and by Rockingham you'll all be old hands at this game.

Unfortunetly I had a Grandstand view of the second half of the first race from the marshalls point, after the battery terminal broke. But it did mean i got a great view of the action.

Cheers

Graham

Yes Graham, but a nut problem has never looked so spectacular, glad there was no damage done.
All the cars looked great, and with the sun shining too, it was one great day.
Thanks to you all.

hehe I expect the look on my face as I realized i'd never make the corner with no power without spining, and tried to scrub of as much speed as possible before taking to the grass and the gravel was quite spectacular as well!!!. Looking at the data I was doing 115 at the braking point for cascades yikes

ALmost as good as when I approached Old Hall once in the Tasmin. put my foot on the brakes and it went straight to the floor, pumped it and nothing. the mental effort to take my foot off the brakes and put it back on the power to get the car round to corner traveling way to fast was huge. still managed it totaly sideways and missed the barrier :-)

I remember last year being on post at Cascades for the Vintage sports car club meet - during one race - lap 1 - the pack appear over the brow of Avenue... and as they head into Cascades, one chap in a Bentley runs rather wide, off the track and heads straight towards us accross the gravel... some how tho manages to keep some steering control and cuts a nice arc through the trap and bounces out to rejoin somewhere down the run to Island.

problem for the other guys was the dust cloud kicked up by him ment they could see what or where the car had eneded up,

Thanks everybody for such an encouraging and supportive day. I'm still buzzing from the experience and more than looking forward to Mallory. Cerbs back at Andy's getting the ignition sorted and some final tidying for scrutineering. See you all Monday. John

There is an open pit lane car trackday there tomorrow - Friday - run by MLR (the Mitsubishi Lancer Register).

I'll be there (but not in anything TVR-shaped). Any other Challenge competitors getting in some sneaky setup?
