Well its allmost here!

It seems a little quiet in here of late so I just thought I'd post this thread.

So what plans do people have for their cars over summer? (feel free to tell us what you have allready done to your cars)

I'll start.

Allready done:

Genuine MINI spotlamps

Alta short ( 4" ) aerial

OEM clear side repeaters

Assorted MINI related stickers (newministuff.com and lohen.co.uk)

In the process of doing:

Genuine MINI spotlamp covers

Astro Black mirror covers (genuine not horrible stick on ones from E-Bay)

both of which arrived today, so when I go home from Uni next week I'll fit them.

On the list of things to do:

Cooper S chrome fuel cap

mini2.com sticker, and maybe a pistonheads one aswell

Aero side skirts

Aero roof spoiler

The latter two will have to wait a while because I need to start paying my mum and dad some money back for the car, so all my summer earnings (hopefully about £3k)will be winging there way into my parents bankaccount Which is only fair as they were kind enough to lend me the money in the 1st place!

So, what are people planning then? feel free to include pics if you wish!

James.

Edit: Forgot some bits..

My MCS has just come out of the garage! It's been hiding under a cover for 4 months.
I just plan to thrash it around the countryside for a week and then pack it up again.
I really appreciate how much fun it is to drive now!

Think a new exhaust pipe and possibly a chip this year however.

Mods sound great guys! Any pictures for us?

I had a go at fitting my mirror caps and managed to snap two clips on one of the caps, so I didn't even bother trying to fit the other! MINI managed to get the broken cap on with some flexible adhesive (it was like an adhesive piece of string they curled round the mirror) so they are all sorted and the look great now!

The spot lamp covers are cool as well, I havent had them of for long, but I test fitted them on the drive and they looked quite good. Heres a pic....

Finally I added a MINI2.COM sticker to the rear window over the weekend...

Heres the car on a drive out in the sun the other day...

Thanks mate.

I'm slowly but surely adding bits to the car. I dont want to spend too much on it though, because in a couple of years my ultimate goal is a Cooper S...

But in the meantime I love this car to bits, and I can still see myself spending lots on it, I've got the MINI bug too badly now. rolleyes

Thanks

Well, you cant really see it in those pics, but I have a zip decal on the roof of mine. I like it because it goes well with the body colour roof of my car, and its pretty individual, despite it being a MINI option I'm yet to see another car with one.

Pic of the zip (really old pic as you can see compared to the others I posted before)

MINI have recently introduced some really cool new designs, two of my favorites are the 'H' helicopter landing logo and the words 'MINI' in the MINI writing. These would look good on your car as they are pretty individual, and would go well with your black roof...

Cannot find a decent pic of them really, but here is a picture which shows all the genuine MINI designs which can be fitted my the dealer for around £115 + fitting. The H and MINI logo's are not featured on there, but if you go to your dealer, they are in the R56 options booklet, because I have one sat in front of me and they are defo in there

Alternatively if you have a custom decal in mind then pop over to MINIPIRATE and drop Phil an e-mail. He made me some mini2.com window stickers for mine and his service was great. People on MINI2 have had custom decals made by him and they always look good.

Hope this helps a little,

James.

Plans for the summer?

At least 2 trackdays, hopefully Goodwood and Cadwell park.

Get the adjustable rear arms and camber mounts fitted.

Finally get hold of a puller so i can fit my enlarged and lightened flywheel.

Have the car RR'd.

Build some custom sliders for the Sparco evo2 so the lanky wife can fit in the car on a trackday...

To name but a few...
