One of my friends has been through 3 clutches in 10,000 miles, and has commissioned an engineer who found that the clutch was permanently loaded, hence casuing premature wear.
He's a car nut, the car is pristine, never tracked. Nissan say its down to driver abuse, we differ.

Does anyone else have any similar experiences ?

Please feel free to PM me if you want to keep this off record.

3 clutches in 10000miles? yikes

You might want to stick this post on www.350z-uk.com as there is a good community over there but I have not heard anyone going through them at that rate....

33,000 miles still on origional clutch, if your mate has been riding the clutch at all it will give up the ghost very quickly (not saying he has)

Look on the forum at http://www.350zukownersclub.com/

Been posts in the past about premature clutch wear.

I've done 41,000 on mine and it's still going strong.

On mine, the gearbox had to be "rebuilt" and the eventually replaced within the fist 10,000 miles, the interior creaked and rattled more than the 100k mile Skoda we had at the time, the seats were uncomfy and the dealers couldnt give a monkey's.

Needless to say I dont have it anymore.
