Steering Wheel - Changing?
Discussion
Just out of interest.......
Saw a nice MOMO steering wheel and was interested if it would fit straight into my Chim 96 4.0HC. The Pitch of the fixing screws for the current wheel look similar to the MOMO ones.
Just a thought but was interested if anone had changed their wheel..
It's the MOMO Millenium that I like, black leather and chrome. Have a look at [url]www.momo.it.|www.momo.it

Hi phil - just done this myself! Fitted a Momo Commando and it looks the business. Check this thread: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=39826&f=13&h=0 for info on bosses and things.
Other point to note is that the plastic shrouding on the steering column seems to be at a slightly odd angle, meaning that the Momo boss rubs and squeaks annoyingly. I've had to 'adjust' mine - meaning cutting away the bit of plastic where there's contact. Still haven't got it quite right but all I can recommend to you is that you fit it and drive around a bit to see if you're affected.
Good luck!

Further to my earlier post, I've finally got the steering wheel right. Here is a pic of the 'adjustments' I had to make...
...you can see that I've just cut out the bottom of what used to be a circle, and seeing as it can't be seen once the wheel's on, I've just finished it off with some electrical tape.
* YOU MAY NOT NEED TO DO THIS *
Like I said, put the wheel on first and give it a try first. I also found that there was some squeaking from where the boss came into contact with the column - a liberal spray of WD40 on both surfaces sorted this.
The wheel is now happily squeak free
Good luck!
