A mate of mine has just managed to secure a 1993 Evo 1, in black, totally and completely standard on 70k. In the pictures (taken with the paper from a few days ago to guarantee age) the Black exterior is immaculate, and in the grey Recaro interior looks more like 7k than 70.

Its even got the original 14" (15"?) OZ rallye wheels on it.

He's going to look at it tonight, and they've agreed on £2.6k if its as described.

He's a bit nervous about paying that out for a 93 car, but i'm pretty sure thats a bargain if its as mint as described.

What do you lot think? I reckon if he keeps it standard and well looked after, that should go up in value pretty soon....

I don't think it will go up in value, but it won't go down either if he keeps the miles down and it is in very good condition.

No 1993 Japanese road car with 70k on the clock is going to go up in value - ever.

I doubt it'll go up above its book value, but he's getting it for over £1000 under, so he should be pretty safe...

But i'd guess its pretty depreciation-proof...

The original wheels for a Evo 1 GSR should be 15" Enkei made alloys.

I don't see why not, the Mk1 MR2 is now a classic, so is the Mk1 MX5 maybe its only a matter of time before an Evo 1 is a classic like so many other rally inspired road cars.
