Broken Dipstick

Picked up the new S

but the dipstick has broken right on the 90 degree bend about 2 inches in

has anyone experience this and is it going to cost a fair amount at mini?

Not heard of this before, but if its broken quite high up, its not going to go anywhere. If you cant pull it out with some longnose pliers, the easiest thing to do is to remove the oil sump. This is quite an easy job and doesn`t take long... an hour at a dealer possibly...

it's off to them on monday so i'm hoping it wont be much to sort, i'm guessing because of the sump removal it'll require an oil change
