Subaru Forester S Turbo - Niggles
Discussion
Hello all. Newbie looking for assistance. Just brought mysef 52 plate forester s turbo. Its got two really anoying problems though.
First is clutch judder when pulling away from cold. Its terrible at first as the whole car shakes, but gets better as the engine heats up. Any suggested solutions other than a new clutch? Does slipping the clutch in a high gear really help to smooth out any imperfections in the plate (suggested by a long in the tooth mechanic in a pub)??
Second is that power 'pulses' when you floor it and let the revs runs from 2500 all the way up to 6500. The power pulses on and off - it holds back momentarily then powers on then holds back all the way through the rev range. Faulty MAF? or maybe turbo pipes blocked/split/disconnected?
Any suggestions or previous experience appreciated.

You'd be better off asking these questions over at http://www.scoobynet.com/ or http://www.sidc.co.uk/
Both issues are fairly typical on Imprezas/Foresters. My Impreza clutch always judders in the wet+cold, I've just got used to.
I've had similar throttle problems to you a couple of times, once it was a dirty MAF, the other time an air leak in a hose.
